I see a lot of people have some pretty high wordcounts - is anyone else aiming intentionally for higher than 50k? I just ask because my personal goal is closer to 100k for this month.

I'm actually shocked by so many high word counts!

I hope to be at 15K by the end of the day, but I'm only aiming for 50K this month. I'm going out of town for Thanksgiving with possibly no computer access, I'm on call in a couple of weeks, and life is unpredictable, so I wanted to get off to a really strong start.

I'm aiming for 12,000 to 15,000 total wordcount today. I have one kid home sick today, but he's really just coming off the tail end of a cold so he's in bed, reading and doesn't need much other than to be left alone, so I have lots of free time today.

This novel is planned to be about 125,000 words and I'd love to get it done this month, but I'll definitely settle for having the first draft done by the end of the year.

2501 for official NaNo count. Already over a quarter of what I accomplished last year, so I'm happy. 50k isn't going to be very much in the finished work, though. The entire piece is well over 17k, and covers maybe one fifth of what I wanted to happen in the first book. Someday, I'll have a LOT of editing to do, but not now. Probably not even until I get it ALL out.

I'm at 6,489 words so far. :) I'm really amazed by all the high word counts! You guys are an inspiration. I'm starting to struggle a bit right now - just feeling pretty down about the quality of the writing and trying to remind myself that it's the quantity, not the quality, that counts right now.

7862 XD I...I have to admit that I'm just boggled by everyone with over 10,000 words. Are you people human? o.o

I'm pretty busy this month, but it's all spread out. Two projects this week, a test and a project next week, a test the week after, and a test and essay the last week...So I'm always going to be juggling NaNo and school, unfortunately. I'm hoping that weekends can be my get-ahead times.
