Hello! I'm Dah. This is my fourth NANOWRIMO. My first one, I failed abysmally at but in the following years, I've gotten better at it and have won twice... hoping this will be my third win. Last year's novel, though I won NANOWRIMO with, was disappointing so I've decided to start from scratch and rewrite it with the same general idea but hopefully better execution! Thus far I'm pleased with it.

Where I'm From: St. Louis, MO

What I'm telling everyone I'm writing about: The making of a musical
What I'm really writing about: The story of three friends, two of whom are ex-lovers, and the introduction of an entirely new relationship into the dynamic (aka romantic fluff) all set in the backdrop of the making of a musical
Writing background: Screenplays mostly, then fanfic, this is my second time doing NaNo and I'm actually writing what feels like a fanfic based on one of my unproduced screenplays
Biggest challenge: Squeezing writing in with the workday

What I'm telling everyone I'm writing about: Cyberpunk type YA novel about a blind chick
What I'm really writing about: Blind girl who, when she touches someone, can borrow their eyesight for a short period of time. Had been in hiding all of her life and the government is after her-- it's supposed to turn out that she and her mother were government experiments and her father was one of the people in charge and he had actually been hiding her himself.
Writing background: Done NaNo for the past three years, writes for fun all the time
Biggest challenge: Trying to write a novel during a month where I really should be building my portfolio and working on my college applications XD

Hey! I spent the whole day looking for the daily introduction thread for today, and here it is. So, mmh, what about me? The name is Chiara (hoodedcrime on here, theKnaveofHearts on NaNo), I'm from Italy but I'm currently studying in the UK, I'm 18 (19 soon) and this is my first NaNo. Hopefully I will achieve my goal to finish it by the end of November, but I am very skeptical about it.

I write every kind of thing, every day; my NaNoWriMo novel is both surreal and realistic, and as much as I try to find a genre to define it, I find myself failing at that every time.

Oh, I should do this. I should have done this a while back. Forgive me.

I'm Svenja, I'm twenty-three, and I'm writing a werewolf novel. Or rather I'm trying to. My characters are being very unreasonable about it and I'm still trying to entice them. But I won NaNo both times I've done it so far, so I'm writing blog posts (http://svenjawrites.blogspot.com) with advice and stuff this year - the LJ feed for that is svenja_writes if anyone's interested. I also just finished my M.A. where I researched and wrote about amateur writers, NaNoers among them, which meant that I could take part in NaNo last year even though I was supposed to be writing my thesis. \o/

What else? Yeah, I'm from Germany, but I live in Ireland so I'm not sure which counts. And I'm nightmaretrinity over on the NaNo site. :)

What I'm telling everyone I'm writing about: "I'm doing NaNo!"
What I'm really writing about: NCIS fanfic, suspense/thriller story
Writing background: Short stories and poetry when I was younger, then did NaNo for the first (and only) time in 2005. That was original fic, and I swear I'm going to get back to it someday! Didn't write a darn thing after that till last year, when I randomly got a crazy idea for a fanfic...ended up being a 90,000 word novel, and I still can't believe I finished it. Since then, I've just written a few shorter pieces.
Biggest challenge: Trying to write in between full-time work, part-time MSPH program, choir, rehearsals, etc.
