I'm April. :) I'm not really sure how to class my NaNo for this year... it was going to be autobiographical fiction, but by chapter 2 it was already veering away from that. So yes. I'm not really sure just where on the spectrum it fits, so for now it's mainstream fiction. As always, I'm a little squiffy about posting the topic of my NaNo novel before I actually achieve the goal of 50k, because I'm not sure how much it'll change before it's finished. ;) But for now... it's about a girl with an eating disorder who is currently coping with her much-loved grandmother being in a coma thanks to a drunk driver. There will also be some focus on the tensions between her parents as they cope with everything that is going on in their lives. Or at least, that's my plan. I don't want it to seem to YA-ish because that wasn't my goal in writing it, but we'll see. It may end up being in the YA category. :) Nothing wrong with that, just not where I intended it to go.

And yes, plot ninjas have already started jumping in and taking over the story. Her grandmother wasn't even originally a character in the story, and now she's a pretty major one. :)

Albreda here, tackling nano despite moving 200 miles mid-month! Three prior wins, half-assed it last year, very likely half-assign it again this year, but can use the relaxing outlet/communal insanity that Nano provides. I'm writing an SF piece called Inzombia; basically what if not getting enough sleep really *could* turn you into a zombie? Should be fun, and, with all that I have to do this month, I might even unwittingly become proof of concept. ;) Good luck to all!

Hello all, I'm Shazi. (:
My NaNo this year focuses on a twenty-three year old and her life in New York City, with the plot centering around her decision to get her tubes tied and her family and friends' reactions to this news. A big part of the plot is also about preventing her getting the surgery done--not only by family and friends, but by her doctors as well--but I think a big part of the novel will end up just being her daily life, her history and an exploration of the dimensions of humanity and human relations. I'm really excited to write it.

I'm a Nano rebel - I've done actual novels for Nano before, but this year I'm doing short fic. May end up doing some of it as fanfic, as I'm really into fanfic (and did that for my August Camp win, actually), but right now I'm working on literary short fic. Short shorts, flash, short, you name it. :) My stories would probably not wow anyone on plot, but I'm darned proud of my characters. ;)

Mmmm... hi, I'm Damian, and I'm starting out on a sci-fi (the sixth one I've set in the same universe) that doesn't really have much plot yet but is probably going to focus on a bunch of deep-space archaeologists waking up an ancient evil on an unexplored planet. Mike here, hello all :D

I'm currently NaNoing the sequel to last years novel. It's an alternate universe where magic is an accepted part of daily life, and it follows the Kings Agent, the wizard who runs the Supernatural Crimes and Necromancy Bureau in the British Archipelago. Las tear he dealt with a rogue werewolf wizard (which shouldn't have existed) and this time round, there's trouble on the inside, as well as anti-supernatural sentiment to contend with. Looking forward to it!

What I'm trying to write is pretty hard to explain, but basically - it's about a teenager who kills himself and then gets to Afterlife where he needs to learn a lesson. It sounds ridiculously emo-ish put this way, but I'm hoping I can make it inspirational enough. My character has to go through a lot and it's basically about a soul and its growing. The point is to make the teenager/his soul wiser, etc etc. I swear it's better than it sounds. :D

This is year five for me with my third fanfic (Axis Powers Hetalia) anthology. This is, however, my first year giving it a go while in college. Gonna need a hell of a lot of luck to get it done, but I'm determined!
