I didn't see an official word count post this time around, so I'm posting my own post. Please let me know if that is not allowed.

I kind of forgot about JaNoWriMo until last night (New Year's Eve), and due to working on other things and having to go into work tonight, I didn't get to writing until just before midnight on January 1st/2nd. Oh and also I had had to print out and paste the part of chapter 7 that wasn't in my handwritten MS notebook into it, which took some time.

Anyway, in an effort to once again write every day, I set a 10-minute timer and wrote. So here's the count:

Tuesday's Word Count (1/1/13): 125
Total Word Count: 125

Although I am continuing my NaNo novel, I'm starting a fresh word count, since I figured we were supposed to do that. Or not. Not sure how JaNoWriMo works. Is there a word count to shoot for like with NaNo? Or are we all just setting our own word count goals this time? I suppose I could go for 50k again. If anyone knows the answer to this, please mention it in the comments.

Hope everyone's doing well in JaNoWriMo land!

As far as my knowledge of JaNoWriMo goes, any unofficial novel writing month is a set your own WC event. I could be wrong.

I'm shooting for 25K this month (very busy), and have 3k completed already with a large chunk of that slated for deletion already.

I'm at a whopping 0 wc right now. I went to get started yesterday, but, well, the hubs & I had a HUGE fight (like, not sure if our marriage is over or not) and since this was supposed to kind of be my book for him, I found that I couldn't write at all yesterday. I laid in bed and got drunk all day. YAY.

Gonna try to write today though. Gotta push through and get started. I've had this WIP in the works for a year, so ain't nobody gonna hold me down. :P I refuse to go to bed until I make today's wordcount. Even with a dark computer screen. Can't wait to get this sucker published. ha ha ha

Right on! Getting any farther? I finally managed about 1200 words today.

I think I usually have to let novels percolate for a LONG time. I knock out short stories or flash fiction pretty quickly (when I put my mind to it...compulsive procrastinator here), but novels usually tumble around for at least a year, sometimes a lot more, before I'm ever ready to tackle them.

Nothing done yet on any of my intended January projects. I was a bit zonked out on new years day, even though it was a very sedate new years eve with my dad and stepmum. Then I had to come back on the train today.

Hopefully on the 3rd I'll be able to sit down and get myself organised. :-)

I'm treating it as something of a "finishing month" meaning attempting to get 25,000 words onto a story or series of stories. These are stories I was already writing a while on but lately I've been tweaking as I go along. Well this month might actually help on the "stop tweaking and just go for it" front. My word count for yesterday ended up around 1000 words. Today so far I haven't had quite as much time to get to my writing so we'll see if I keep up with my goal of 807 words per day.
