Now that we are 10 days into October, a lot of people have had the chance to introduce themselves. We will keep posting those intros every day until November 5th. However, it's time to mix things up a bit.
This post here is for the 2009 Regional Meetups, Friending, and just plain having fun.
What's going to happen is that in the replies, you'll be able to find people in your area that are going to be going through the same torture experience, and it will help you find some NaNo buddies to keep you going and motivated.
Here's how it works. First off... READ ALL COMMENTS BEFORE STARTING A POST.
Members in the USA:
First person please reply to the post with the STATE in the subject line. Once the state is up, it can NOT be reposted. Duplications will be deleted.
Second person reply with your city/region in the subject line (only if it hasn't been done yet). After that, if you're in that region, reply in your area and chat and make new friends!
Members in Canada (updated at 6:40pm CST):
It was given that the best way for this country would be to start by dividing yourself up by provinces first, and divide down from there. (thank you
sushimustwrite for the suggestion!)
Members outside of the USA & Canada:
Similar idea, but I would go with the country first, then the region. Sadly, my geography sucks so that it the best way I would think to go.
Our 2008 thread was deleted by a hacker, but you can look at the 2007 Thread for examples on how this works.
If you live on borders to two areas, you are more than able to reply in multiple threads. If you're writing a story in say, Italy, and you're from Chicago, then talk to the people in the Italy thread!
This is all about making friends. :)
That's about it! Have fun and enjoy!
Add this thread to your memories folks, because it's the only one you get a year!
Also note that this LJ community is not affiliated with the website, and we have no control over where meet-ups are in relation to people participating. We're just doing this to help unite fellow LJ users that you might not realize might live down the street from you.
