National Novel Writer's Month

Hey Everyone! You may have seen some of my posts with things such as schedules, or friending memes. I am one of the owners of this community, along with Mel.(writingvixen) I will often be the one to post things such as our daily schedules, the word count and excerpt posts, as well as the daily challenges/inspiration. This post is to give you a brief explanation of what I will be posting, as well as what days it will be on. :)


Monday Maladies: Every monday I will be posting something with a different problem we may encounter during writing, and tips for avoiding them. Or, in many cases, working yourself out of them. Some topics will include Writer's Block, Writing yourself in to a corner, and realizing that you actually hate your plot.

Talkative Tuesday: On Tuesday's will post something akin to a "Plot Help" thread. Have questions about what to do with that one character? Want to just rant about how your idiot MC is already trying to get themselves killed the first week in? Just want to talk about your story in general? This is the place.

Writer Wednesday: Wednesday's won't be along the same lines of the others, instead what we will be doing is posting interviews with Nano veterans from the community, sharing their wisdom.

Thoughtful Thursday: A quote about writing that is meant to inspire you.

Friday Five: Everyone love's Nano Dares. But we decided that for a fun twist every weekend we will have a challenge. We will post five dares that center around the same general theme, you may choose one, or all of them, and at the end of the weekend we will post graphics and icons for the winners, as well as a post  where you can post the challenge if you so desire.

Lazy Lördag: For anyone wondering, Lördag is Swedish for Saturday. Lazy Saturday just doesn't have the same alliteration as the other days. hush. I will be posting a word and definition on Saturdays; we've gotten some of the favorite words from all of the mods and so each Saturday you'll get one from a different mod. :)

Sharing Sunday: Have an awesome website where you post your writing that you want to pimp? Find a new program that is AMAZING? Want more friends on your writing journal? The daily post on Sunday is where that, and any other "advertisement" like posts should be posted.


What if I have an issue with my story on Wednesday/Thurday/any other day? You are still more than welcome to post whatever you want in the community, so long as it adheres to the rules. This is to keep things organized and to help everyone by giving topics to share on.

Also, as a heads up, the next Friending meme will be posted on Sunday, and the daily introduction posts will begin on the 25th, so keep your eyes out for those! :D
