Big thanks to everyone who's been fueling my muse with new music! (Hah, Muse-Ick.)
Sooo since you guys are so awesome at it...
Any ideas for good music for fighting?

Full Metal Jackoff - DOA w/ Jello Biafra. A Canadian punk band teamed up with Jello to pound out 13 minutes of angry ranting against the War on Drugs.

Body Count - Front Line Assembly. You have to go back about 20 years to find this one, but it's really nice and aggressive.

Just about anything by Combichrist, with the caveat that Andy LaPlegua is cheerfully and gleefully offensive.

i like Muse, so take my suggestion as you will. ;)

Battle Ready - Otep
Calm Like a Bomb - Rage Against the Machine
a few tracks on the Doctor Who OST by Murray Gold (The Daleks is a good one)
Pandemonium - Apocalyptica
Artificial Solider (album) - Front Line Assembly
there are some tracks by Ennio Morricone that really set me into that fighting mood, just because most of his has this slow burn that builds and builds.

The song that's been egging on the fight scenes in my story has been the third movement of Beethoven's Piano Sonata no. 23 in f-minor. Hah. That probably doesn't help your story out much. Just thought I'd put it out there. :D

Eye of the Tiger is a classic. Also, Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting, though that's a bit cornier.

I ALWAYS listen to Coheed and Cambria for that, specifically anything off of In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3. It's melodic and haunting at the same time, which is usually perfect for me. :) Some Muse songs are really good for it, too, and on occasion I dabble in The Used, though that can get kind of screamo-ish.

Good luck!

Got it.

Fast paced fighting deserves the fast paced beats, heavy drums, and shredding guitars/whatever you want to put as a lead instrument.

Suggestions:Bands

Dragonforce-Personal favorite
Pantera
Black Label Society
Soil
Soilwork
Mudvayne
Damageplan
Hellyeah
Disturbed
Slipknot
Drowning Pool

Etc. etc.

Hope it's helpful

Ooooh yes a definite "me too" on Combichrist. Wonderful music for a really good gym workout too. I tend to use "What the f*ck is wrong with you", "Rain of Blood" and "Blut Royale" mostly.
Also recommend most Rage against the Machine, New Model Army, Rammstein, Rob Zombie....

Heather Alexander's (now Alec Adams - icon) March of Cambreadth (http://www.heatherlands.com/seafire/index.html) - scroll down to "Midsummer" to hear the audio clip.

Kill them all and make them die!

Only in (very fuzzy) pictures. But then, I hear he is Very Fuzzy around the edges anyway!

Oh, yes. I've even heard him called "the Viking Muppet" - though not, I might add, within his earshot!

Icon love. :)

I like your icon too. It seems to 'dance' to nearly every song that is playing on filk.com when I see it. Gankable?

I guess I'm in the minority, but I like mellow music when I'm writing. I listen to Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, the Shins and stuff like that.

I am listening purely to classical/romantic music for writing this year (Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, etc...), a lot of it's very calming; but for my battle/stressful scenes in the story I think that something with more tense structure helps get me in to the right frame of mind.

Ministry - Psalm 69
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Body Count - Body Count
Venom - Black Metal
Carl Orff - Carmina Burana
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Black Sabbath - We Sold Our Souls for Rock-n-Roll
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Bathory - Blood Fire Death

What can I say? The classics work for me! :)

Moondance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnl51qk2gPU) - Nightwish
Mezame (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdqUy2sgcQc) - Yuki Kajiura. In my head I always imagine the first minute as buildup and then the rest is the fight itself.
Though the Fire and the Flames (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLyY22CpC1Q) - Dragonforce. I usually let this loop if I'm trying to imagine a fight scene, unless the scene has a particular song that fits more.
Requiem for a Dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSY4Yi2ypno) - Clint Mansell
The Battle for Everyone's Souls (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdMhTL5bZrs) - Persona 3 OST. One of my favourite songs. :D
