Post your daily introduction here!
We love getting to know each other, and it's a great way to meet new friends!

Also, sorry I haven't had this up in a few days. My computer and internet have been giving me grief, and LJ just informed me none of my posts have been posting.

Hi, I'm Mercy and a fan of writing.

So here goes: I started NaNo last year after my friend [livejournal.com profile] travellyr told me about it. We discussed it at length starting in September but really got into the heavy duty discussions in October. Since I had a novel kicking around in my head, I thought that NaNo would be a good reason for me to finally get it all down. I actually made it OVER the 50k word count (but only by just over 1000 words) and officialy "won" last year. (Never mind that the novel is not complete yet and probably still has another 50k words left in it - if not more.)

This year I'm going to use my fancy pants university education to write my story, a historical fiction/romance set in the Civil War all over the East Coast. I honestly don't have much planned for it so far, aside from my two main characters having names. Additional character planning will continue probably up until November 1st, where I will grudgingly cheerfully dive into my story with nothing planned beyond the general idea in my mind and the very first sentence. Though that could change.

I like to feel the ideas flowing from my mind to my fingers and magically appear in Microsoft Word. I find it a great creative outlet as well.

Hello, NaNos! My name is Rebecca, and a part of the teenage-NaNo clan

I'm one of those "have written all my life" people, but to be honest, the first time I wrote for fun was when I was eleven, and the first story I wrote for fun was when I was thirteen. But, writing is second-nature to me, I write (or read) every day. If I don't, I don't feel so good...

I first heard about NaNoWriMo two years ago during my first year on lj, but thought I was too little to participate, last year I decided to check it out instead of just wondering. But, I would have done it even if I wasn't allowed. It didn't go so well. Funerals, excessive homework and three birthdays is tough. This year I am prepared though!

This year I am betting safe, and writing in my own native language, and that is Swedish. As pretty as English is, I need to be able to play a lot more with the language to pull this off.

I've had this idea since August when I got it while eavesdropping on a conversation on the train. Now it's itching in me to get to write it down, so I'm very excited for November!

Hey everyone! I'm a 23 y/o writer, highly skilled at both wordy dialogue and procrastination, and I'm SO excited about my second NaNo. Last year I signed up on an impulse in the last week of October, and brilliantly decided to write the second book what aims to be an epic fantasy trilogy. I don't think I'll make that mistake again. No, this year I'm going to write the third book instead. ;-)

Despite a crazy November complete with a November 29th POWER OUTAGE (a NaNo's worst nightmare!), I somehow won last year, and was just blown away by the magic power of kamikaze novel-writing. I began with little more than a title and a few undeveloped characters, and learned so, so much about my story by the month's end. It's true what they say about necessity being the mother of invention. This year promises to be even more fun since I'm doing it with a bunch of friends, and discovering that there really ARE other crazy writers in this small town. November 1st just can't get here fast enough!

...although, I'm thinking it might be nice to try to come up with some sort of rough outline this year...? :-)

Hi everyone, I'm Chelle and this is my 6th year, but I've only one 3 times. This year I am looking forward to getting more involved in the writing community.

Right now, I'm juggling about five plot lines and studying for the GRE.

Good luck to everyone.

Hey everyone. I'm Amber. I'm twenty-one years old and this is my first try at this. I've been meaning to do it for the past four years, but have never been able to.

I'm not sure how this will work out, but I subscribe to those thoughts of nothing ventured nothing gained and it can't hurt. Mostly the reason I'm doing this though is to commit words to paper and finally get one of the plot bunnies that have been plaguing me out.

I'm just wondering how I'm supposed to choose from 300+ ideas ...

Hi everyone! *waves* I'm Roh and this is my second year doing NaNo. Last year, I gave it a try on an impulse, had no plot in mind, and started writing from scratch on Nov. 1. Needless to say, I ran out of plot and real life intervened in a big way before I could really commit to finishing my story.

This year, I've put a lot of work into preparing for NaNo and I fully intend to stab the procrastinator part of my brain with a dull pen so I can finish!
