My novel's cover )

It's quite possible that the title of my novel will change...I came up with the title today, so it's still a work in progress. :)

Oh, and all images are from gettyimages.com.

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out my story but I'm stuck at a very important plot point and I could use some help.

My story involves the Hot and Gorgeous Club, which are a group of young and attractive people who are the crem-de-la-crem (can't spell :P) of society and likes everything to be posh. Joining the club is invitation only (the process is described in the novel). In my story, the MC gets invited to this club, and he gets into trouble when his friend writes an article about young adults' buying power using the name "Hot and Gorgeous Club", not knowing such a club exists. The other members accuse him of breaching secrecy (the only way you know about the club is if you join it) and tell him to get rid of his friend.

I need a reason for them to be secretive. So far I have that they have somewhat illegal dealings with the retailers they frequent, but I need more ideas. Anything?

thanks :D

Okay, five days to Nano, and my outline is not finished!! Damn my muse for making me trash the bare bones outline I had and forcing me to think I needed to go back and do it again... Now I'm scrambling to finish the outline and have maybe a day or two before the final descent into the insanity that is Nano..

Okay, I've finished my plot outline, but I have absolutely no names. My plot is an ancient, generic culture base, like Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, etc. Any ideas on where to look for names, name generators, or anyone wanting to throw out random names you like but never got a chance to use, I'd really appreciate it!

i didn't make a cover, but i did make the above blurb for funsies ~ i decided at the last minute not to include the tapeworm named smedley in the blurb, but i think it conveys enough of the tone (i hope) ~

i am still not sure whether and where i'll be posting the work ~ most likely in LookingLand <~

So I'm having this conversation in [livejournal.com profile] c_kretsquirrel's lj, and I'm suddenly hit with Yet Another NaNo Idea:

Great, now I'm thinking my nano may be a comedy--some friends accidentally-on-purpose kill someone, and have to dispose of the body...

Come on, November! I want to focus on just one project! GAH!

So many ideas, so little time...

Hello, everyone. I'm Dev, third year WriMo, looking forward to my second win. I wanted to share my personal little trick for staying motivated.

Hey, it worked in kindergarten. )

Also, I did a book cover. Of course.

And here it is, with a bonus 2003 cover. )

Well, I'm looking to make some slight changes to my plot as a new character just decided to reveal himself. Don't you just love that? :P

I also just created a journal on Blogger. XD It's part of my 'online blog' addiction. So I'm not sure if I should put my nano HERE, or Blogger. Or even Xanga. o_O I'm also not sure whether or not I should protect (Friends lock) them. Doesn't matter if you do that or not? Because at the Evolution forums, someone told me it was best to friends lock your stuff so you retain publishing rights or something.

o_O

Any advice? Because I want people to read my NaNoCrap! That's the best part of it, right?

I now possess a Temporary title! :D

Χαμένος στην εξαπάτηση του πατέρα

As far as I know, it's Greek for: Lost in the Deceit of Father.

:D!

It's likely to change, but at least I have something to call it. LDF :D yay!

Is anyone else using their current livejournal solely for nanowrimo - posting and plotting novel-things? I'd love to read other people's stories and their ideas while I'm writing mine! I'm a bit nervous about just friending people out of the blue - it tends to get you labeled a 'troll' or 'lurker'. So this post is a kind of 'Hi, wanna be friends' post...

I like reading pretty much everything, and given I often have a lot of spare time at work, it'd be great to see more people on my flist!

Anyone up for friending each other?

I had really not planned on making an introduction post here. Basically because I figured that there were plenty of others who were occupying the space with their introductions, and those were more interesting than whatever I could ever hope to produce.

But then I got bored.

Really bored.

And since I've done most of my mandatory reading for class, and played my share of Neopets games, I figured: why the hell not?

But, alas, I'm merciful, and will put most of it behind a cut.

Hi, I'm Anne. I'm 21 years old, and this is my first year at this.

The Cut. )My 2004 Nanowrimo attempt will be called Edie. If, for some obscure reason, any of you are interested in Edie's progress, or my progress with writing it, then you should probably pop over to my LJ, friend me and check out this post. If you're not interested, then you don't do that.

Okay. *thinks* now I'm done. Maybe I should go do some of the things I must get done before November 1st...

Hey guys! I'm curious as to who else will be posting their NaNo novel on LiveJournal this year. Last year I had about ten people on my friends list who were posting their novels and it was quite refreshing to read the work of other Wrimos during discouraging moments. (No, not because the novels were badly written! *g* They were a reminder that other people were also struggling and I'm a firm advocate of the belief "If I'm going down, ya'll better be going down with me..." Plus most of them were great reads.)

I'll be posting mine over at my NaNo LJ. If you're posting yours online - and don't mind others reading it - please let me know so I can hurry over and friend you. =D

A lot of people have mentioned putting thier novel online or posting it on LJ.

Here's a quick tip I didn't know myself until just recently:

If something has been posted on the internet for anyone to have access to and read, then technically that counts as a publishing. If you're not planning to do anything with your novel after NaNo and just want your friends to read it that's just fine.

However, if you're considering trying to get your novel published and submitting it, if it's been posted on the internet then they count it has having already been published and won't buy it.

Just so you know. :-)

I hope that helps someone.

I joined this community as [livejournal.com profile] nirnaeth, but decided to use a separate LJ for NaNoWriMo, which is at [livejournal.com profile] wild_birds. I would adore to read the NaNoJournals of other mad(wo)men, so if you want to, leave a comment or friend me ^_^ You know you'll need all the moral support / understanding / co-complaining you can get during November!

I suspect we'll be like all the people who played in the Helm's Deep scenes of LOTR, who could recognize each other in the streets because they all looked like walking zombies after getting no sleep and stomping around in mud all night. Not that I plan to do that last part, but isn't it somewhat the equivalent of trying to write a 50 000 word novel with, well, basically no plot? I seem to vaguely remember that feeling...
Well, the bestest of luck to everyone! Less than a week left now o_O

Okay, so i have made some major progress with getting into shape recently.  And i don't want to stop the train.  But i know that sitting at my computer for forever next month is going to slow me down.

Anyone have any suggestions for products, or ideas of things i can do while sitting at my desk to keep in shape over the next month.

I've started buying lots of healthfood snacks for the next month. So i hope all goes well.

Thanks
